Meet Dr. Dale Fehr
Orthodontics is a profession that allows me to change lives. A perfect smile is a powerful thing. I love creating healthy smiles that last a lifetime, but I also get to help our patients have a wonderful experience in our office, which is incredibly rewarding. Our patients often grow in self-esteem when they see their new smiles for the first time, and I am lucky to be part of their lives.
Education and Continuing Education
In order to become an orthodontist, I attained the following degrees:
- Bachelor of Science in microbiology – University of Iowa
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery – University of Iowa
- Master of Science in orthodontics – University of Iowa
Although I started practicing professionally more than 20 years ago, I have never stopped learning about orthodontics. My field is constantly evolving, with new technology, and I strive to provide the most efficient and comfortable treatments possible for my patients.
I pride myself on learning the most applicable methods from the most reliable sources. As part of my continuing education, I attend local, state, and national continuing education meetings, and bring the best practices back to my office.
In the Practice
As an orthodontist, I get to create amazing smiles that help my patients gain confidence. I have been helping people in my community through orthodontics since 1991, and am honored to have met such wonderful friends. I enjoy getting to know my patients personally throughout their treatment and seeing their surprised and happy faces when their new smiles are revealed.
I know that my patients don’t just want straight teeth; they also want a positive orthodontic experience. My staff and I treat every patient like part of our family, with respect and honesty. We welcome our patients warmly, and strive to make each visitor feel right at home. Our practice is geared toward children and families, and we love getting to know patients of all ages and having tons of fun!
Family and Community
I grew up on a farm near Mallard in Northwest Iowa, and have lived in the Illinois Quad Cities since starting my orthodontic practice in 1991. My lovely wife Shelli and I have two beloved Yorkshire Terriers named Zoey and Bailey. We love to travel, especially when visiting family and friends in various states and countries, to immerse ourselves in different cultures. I enjoy hiking and photography. Next time you are in the office, check out some of the photos I have taken.
As a proud member of our community, I love volunteering for local charities and organizations. I have been a member of the East Moline-Silvis Kiwanis since 1993 and am a two-time past president. I am also a recent Amador Medallion Award winner for community work through Kiwanis. In addition, I am an avid supporter of many children’s sports teams and donate annually to area school PTAs and PTOs.
